While it’s disappointing that you will no longer be able to to take a dip at the waterfalls at Krka it makes a lot of sense to hear that Krka National Park management have banned swimming in the park from 2021, citing the need to conserve resources and the richness of biodiversity within the park as the main reasons for the ban. 

“The overall viability of the Krka River basin and its wildlife rests on the development of travertine barriers, so preserving the travertine deposition process is a fundamental goal of Krka National Park. For this reason, there will be a swimming ban in Krka National Park from 1 January 2021. Due to the centuries-old cohabitation of people with the river, swimming is allowed to the local population in the following locations: Stinice, Remetić – Pisak and downstream of Roški Waterfall,” NP Krka said. 

“On the eve of its 35th birthday, Krka National Park is facing the adoption of important strategic documents that will determine the path we want to go towards in thee future. What kind of ecosystem we will leave to future generations is our most important task. After many years of thought and numerous researches, consideration of the needs of both nature and us, who in one way or another use what Krka has given us, measures have been adopted that will contribute to long-term sustainable management and protection of nature, ”said Krka National Park director Nella Slavica.

Nobody likes having to pay extra for their holiday.  An increasing number of apartment listing sites online charge a traveler’s fee of at least 6% with some charging much more than this (15%-20%!).

We are are urging customers to save some money by booking directly with us and we’re offering a discount too.  Here are a few tips for finding your rental outside of the likes of AirBnB, Home Away, Owners Direct and Booking.com (also check out the infographic above)

- Use property names and descriptions to find owners contact details elsewhere online. 

- Check the area of the property on google maps and find website details for owner.  (eg.  If you’re looking for our Penthouse Paulina if you put the keywords “Apartment Paulina” and “Okrug Gornji” into Maps our details will pop up)

- If you have booked using one of the above sites then keep the owners details so if you return you can contact them direct - more than likely you’ll be offered a better rate too (we always offer a discount to customers that contact us directly)

- Check reviews online and always pay using credit card or Paypal or something similar
