We jumped on the water taxi from Ciovo to Trogir early in the morning, we decided to go straight for ice cream for breakfast.  We choose Caffe Bar Bella as they offer some yummy vegan options and because we were on holidays we went back to the riva for a morning cocktail before taking in the beauty Trogir has to offer.

We strolled around the beautiful streets and went in the main gates into the walled town.  They are impressive.

Even though we were a little tipsy after our morning cocktails we decided to climb to the top of Kamerlengo tower, such a beautiful view overlooking the Riva.

We decided to have lunch in Restaurant Pasike, they have lots of vegan and veggie options that are very tasty.  We hopped back on the water taxi so we could take a dip in the stunning water at Duga bay.

There are numerous restaurants on Ciovo.  Below are a few we recommend - do let us know where you loved.

Leonardos

Leonardos at the main beach is one of our favourite restaurants on Ciovo, it’s family owned with a buzzing atmosphere where someone will always greet you with a smile.  The owners recently renovated the premises and added a quaint loggia section.   

There is a very large selection of food.  They offer everything from wood burning pizzas to rib eye steaks.  One of our favourite dishes on the menu is the four cheese macaroni.  Luka, Snezana and all the team will be happy to welcome to Leo’s.

Sr Dela

Sr Dela is another top restaurant at the main beach on Ciovo.  Roberto and his family are very friendly and offer some of the best dishes on the island.  This restaurant is always busy no matter what time of year.  We recommend you arrive early.  Dishes we love here are the vegetarian spaghetti, pizzas and the veal steak.

Villa Katarina

The hosts Josipa and Sime offer some great food at their hotel.  Ideal for snacks or lunch after the beach.  They have one of the best green lasagnes on the island - you simply must try it and it’s excellent with a greek salad.

Trogir Restaurants 

Trogir has over 100 restaurants, below are just a few of our suggestions.  Be sure to let us know where you thought was great.

Era

This was a great find many moons ago, it seems to have changed hands over the years but the food retained the same beautiful flavours.  The garlic bread here is a speciality, a calzone style bread with tomato and garlic goodness - just try it.  Gorgeous with a cabbage salad.  The meat lasagne is very good here also.

If the outdoor area is full you can wait indoors with a drink til one comes available.  It’s really beautiful outdoors and worth the wait.

TRS Restaurant

Superb Food, Gorgeous Ambience, Excellent and friendly staff.  Konoba TRS is one of our favourite restaurants in Trogir offering food that many restaurants in the area do not, for example they have tasty falafel, amazing cauliflower soup and fish plates to die for… I am a veggie and find that there are lots of options to choose from, most restaurants in Trogir have very few veggie dishes. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and welcoming, we’ve got to know them over the years.. Ask for the owner Tomo and he will suggest a mouthwatering dish.

The Top Balloon

Right in the middle of Trogir this little gem has something to cater for everyone’s needs.  Well known for their yummy stonebaked pizzas but we do think their pastas are one of the best.

Today is Book Direct Day and to celebrate we’re offering 10% off our self catering holiday homes in Croatia.

Nobody likes having to pay extra for their holiday.  An increasing number of apartment listing sites on the internet charge a traveler’s fee of at least 6% with some charging much more than this (15%-20%!).

We are are urging customers to save some money by booking directly with us and we’re offering a discount too.  Here are a few tips for finding your rental outside of the likes of AirBnB, Home Away, Owners Direct and Booking.com (also check out the infographic above)

- Use property names and descriptions to find owners contact details elsewhere online. 

- Check the area of the property on google maps and find website details for owner.  (eg.  If you’re looking for our Penthouse Paulina if you put the keywords “Apartment Paulina” and “Okrug Gornji” into Maps our details will pop up)

- If you have booked using one of the above sites then keep the owners details so if you return you can contact them direct - more than likely you’ll be offered a better rate too (we always offer a discount to customers that contact us directly)

- Check reviews online and always pay using credit card or Paypal or something similar)
